Games on screens, tables and everything in between. Plus the films, series and music we can’t stop talking about.

About the team

Crit & Cutscene is an independent magazine about games on screens, tables and everything in between: video games, board games and tabletop RPGs, plus the films, series, music and tech that orbit them. We write in English and Greek, because that is how we talk about games ourselves.

Who we are

We are a small team of players based in Greece. We grew up on PlayStation demo discs, internet café LAN nights and the board game that came out every Christmas, and we never really stopped. We write under pen names and sign everything as "the Crit & Cutscene team": what matters is the game, not the person typing.

  • Nyx: video games, RPGs and soundtracks. Our resident mythology nerd, with far too many hours in roguelikes.
  • Rook: board games and tabletop RPGs. The one who teaches the rules and runs the D&D campaign.
  • Pixel: tech, handhelds and everything on screen. Builds PCs, tests gear and watches every game adaptation, good or bad.

What we believe

  • Honest over hyped. We say what we think, including when something popular disappoints.
  • Useful first. Every article should help you decide what to play, watch or buy next.
  • Beginners welcome. We explain the jargon and never assume you already know the rules.
  • Greek players count. We keep Greek editions, Greek language support and European prices in mind.

Independence

Nobody pays us to say nice things. If a publisher sends us a review copy, we say so in the review, and it never changes the verdict. The site runs no advertising or tracking cookies. You can read how we judge things on How we score.
